Social media does not wait when it comes to passing sarcastic remarks. This time, Apple’s newly launched iPhone SE is under scrutiny.

Netizens mockingly read ‘SE’ as an acronym for ‘Still Expensive’, referring to their claim that iPhone SE pricing is still expensive compared to its specifications.

iPhone SE is announced to enter United States at $399 (RM1592) for 16GB model and $499 (RM1990) for 64GB model.

The moniker is also seen as a cynical commentary on Apple’s decision to use iPhone 5S design, last seen three years ago, on its latest product line.

iPhone SE is equipped with specifications similar to iPhone 6s: retina display, A9 processor, 12-megapixels camera, and 4K video recording.

In an event on Monday, Apple also announced a 9.7-inch iPad Pro and reiterated their commitment to protect users privacy due to ongoing FBI request to override iPhone security system for San Bernardino shooting investigation.
