About 300 members of the National Union of Bank Employees (Nube) yesterday held a peaceful picket, urging Alliance Bank Berhad to provide prayer room for its Muslim employees.

Nube secretary-general J. Solomon said, due to the absence of a prayer room, the bank's Muslim employees performed prayers in the store room, under the staircase or server room.

"If the bank does not resolve the issue, we will continue to picket until the problem is over," he told reporters during the two-hour picket which began at 4.40pm, in front of the bank's building in Jalan Munshi Abdullah here.
