Penang police seized 199 bottles of liquified vape believed to contain drugs in a raid on a premises in Jalan
Tanjung Tokong, near here yesterday.

State Narcotics CID Chief, Supt Guan Beng Kang said that in the operation codenamed 'Ops Vapor', police detained a 24-year-old man who was the owner of the premises.

"Following a tip-off, police detained the man at 5 pm yesterday (Dec 18) and seized 199 bottles of liquid believed to contain drugs of various brands with an estimated street value of RM12,000," he said at a press conference, here today.

"This was the first operation (on liquified vape) and the police would continue to monitor the situation from time to time on all premises selling vape in Penang as the trend is becoming more serious," he said.

He said that the liquid which did not obtain any approval from the Health Ministry was believed to be sold at between RM40 to RM80 per bottle depending on the size of the bottle and its flavour.
