Police have commenced investigations into two video clips of bullying incidents, believed to have happened at school hostels, which have gone viral on social media.

Acting Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohamad Fuzi Harun in a statement here on Wednesday said the police commissioners in Sabah and Sarawak and state police chiefs in the peninsula had been instructed to track down the schools and students involved.

"We urge the public, the management of the schools, parents and teachers who have knowledge of these incidents to come forward and assist the police in the investigations," he said.

One of the clips lasting four minutes and 37 seconds shows a group of boys assaulting nine other boys, believed to be at the dormitory of a school's hostel while in the other clip with a duration of six minutes and 51 seconds, a boy can be seen being beaten by a group of boys, also believed to have happened at the school's hostel.

Meanwhile, in KUCHING, Sarawak Deputy Police Commissioner DCP Datuk Dr Chai Khin Chung has denied the incidents happened in the state.

"Sarawak police have not received any reports regarding these video clips.

Nevertheless, we are monitoring the the situation and will commence investigations if any reports are lodged," he said in a statement.
