A total of 584 applicants under the Bukit Jalil 1 and 2 People's Housing Project (PPR) finally received their housing offer letters from Kuala Lumpur City Hall, after 15 years.

Federal Territories and Urban Well being Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin said they were among the 1,069 eligible applicants, including the disabled, single mothers and single fathers.

"Today we're just presenting the offer letters and they will receive the keys on Federal Territory Day on Feb 1.

"We've given priority to the disabled, single mothers and single fathers,' he said at the presentation ceremony on Tuesday.

Also present were, Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Ahmad Phesal Taib and National Housing Department director Datuk Dr Mohd Padzil Hashim.

He advised the recipients to not misuse the houses by renting them out to others or foreigners for profit, as there were more applicants waiting.

"The provision of these houses proves that we fulfill our promises, for the well-being of the people," he said.
