Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) secretary-general S. Arutchelvan has been arrested by police to assist in investigations over his remarks which are believed to be seditious on the internet on Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s sodomy conviction on February 10.

Arutchelvan, who is also known as Arul said, more than 10 policemen were waiting outside his home in Kajang, Selangor to bring him to the Dang Wangi district police station in Kuala Lumpur, reported The Malay Mail Online.

A tweet which is believed to belong to PSM also said that several policemen had entered his home and confiscated several electronic devices.

“They (police) said they are investigating me under the Sedition Act, but they have not told me exactly for what.

“It might have to do with what the IGP said the other day,” Arul was quoted as saying by The Malay Mail Online.

Several people were also said to have gathered outside the IPD Dang Wangi at 9.30pm as a show of solidarity for Arul.
