The search for two more Singaporeans reported missing following the earthquake here on Friday resumed at 6am today.

Ranau district police chief DSP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said more than 10 personnel have arrived at Laban Rata.

"Today the weather seems fine albeit some fog, but it isn't as bad as yesterday and our team has already landed at Laban Rata to resume the operation," he told Bernama here today.

Yesterday, a mission by a search and rescue team to bring down two more bodies from Mt Kinabalu was forced to be called off because of poor visibility due to thick fog around the mountain.

As of today, 16 victims have been confirmed dead, comprising six from Malaysia, seven from Singapore, one from the Philippines, one from China and one from Japan.

The 6.0-magnitude earthquake occurred 16 kilometres on the northwest of Ranau around 7.15am on Friday.
