SEREMBAN: Billionaire Elon Musk expressed his desire to meet Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim next week regarding increased investment in Malaysia.

Anwar was informed of the matter when speaking at the Prime Minister's mandate ceremony for Negeri Sembilan civil servants at Seremban City Council Hall, here on Friday.

"Two weeks ago, Saudi Aramco, one of the largest oil companies in the world came to see me at the Energy Asia 2023 Conference and agreed to increase investment expansion in Johor. This is because of the company's confidence in us (Malaysia).

"Next week, Elon Musk asked to consult with me to discuss the possibility and his commitment to increase investment in Malaysia.

"This is important, if there is no investment, unemployment will increase, the economy will not grow, restaurants, hotels and others will also be affected," he said here on Friday.

Anwar added that good economic governance and management is able to attract the interest and confidence of domestic and foreign investors to invest in this country, thereby ensuring rapid economic growth.

According to him, the matter is proven when under his administration that cares about the matter, the entry of foreign investment.
