More than 1,000 residents of Kampung Talak have not been able to get a good night's sleep after being robbed by what they described as a 'toyol'.

The villagers claim that the toyol had entered their houses and stolen money from them in the middle of the night when they're asleep.

They said the toyol has been around for more than a year and caused husbands and wives to blame each other for their missing money.

Local resident Semah Mat, who shared her experience, claimed that her husband had seen the toyol sneaking out of their front door.

“My husband has seen this creature which is green in colour and stands only 12 inches tall. First it entered a neighbour’s house before heading towards our house. But it ran away after seeing my husband,” she said.

For Che Bidah Che Wan who had lost RM500, she admitted that the presence of the toyol caused uneasiness in the village.

“The door was locked and there was no sign of a break-in attempt. The house is always locked,” she said.

During a visit by Astro AWANI to Kampung Talak on Saturday, most villagers are concerned with the presence of the toyol.

They also sought the help traditional medicine practioners with experience capturing toyol, to come forward and assist them.

As of now, villagers have claimed there are more than 10 incidents of theft associated with the toyol within a month.
