Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has created a website for single mothers, especially those in Johor, to obtain information on aid they can obtain from government agencies.

The Smart Life of Single Mother System (Slsms) website was developed following two years of study by five researchers, led by Dr Faizah Abdul Ghani, and assisted by four students.

Faizah said the website allows single mothers to get a guidance manual on how to apply for aid, as well as help them with cases which involve the court.

"The website can be accessed at http://web2.fp.utm.my/smartlife, which covers five main elements namely Kenali Diri Anda (Know Yourself), Gaya Hidup Sihat (Healthy Lifestyle), Sudut Informasi (Information Corner), Hubungi Kaunselor (Contact a Counselor) and Badan Rujukan (References)," she told a news
conference here, Wednesday.

Faizah, who acts as the website's counselor, said it also displays a database on single mothers who need direct assistance.
