Various tourism facilities will be developed in Gelang Patah under the Johor Tourism Master Plan, said State Executive Councillor for Tourism, Domestic Trade and Consumerism, Datuk Tee Siew Kiong.

He told the State Assembly sitting today that this was in line with the status of Gelang Patah as a service town that offered tourism facilities to visitors to the tourist destination.

"Under the Johor State Tourism Master Plan, the state government will develop Gelang Patah town by increasing and providing tourism facilities within the town area, especially budget hotels, clean and orderly eating outlets, as well as banking and health facilities," he said.

The spillover effects from the development of tourism products of international standards based on the family concept within the Nusajaya area led to the creation of such projects as the Legoland, Hello Kitty, Pinewood Studios and the Johor Premium Outlet.

He disclosed this when replying to a verbal question from Dr Zaini Abu Bakar (BN-Nusajaya) at the First Sitting of the 13th Johor State Legislative Assembly session in Kota Iskandar, here yesterday.
