Wake up early and increase productivity.

Such was the call of MCA President, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai not just to the Chinese community but also the entire rakyat in the country.

“The positive values of the roosters must be emulated as a guideline to propel the rakyat in multiplying efforts to realise the country’s ambitions.

“The roosters wake up early and start crowing, so the spirit can be a practice for us to work hard to increase productivity.

“As the country undergoes an important transformation, we must be spirited and focused in our effort to increase the productivity of the country,” said Liow at MCA CNY Open House at Wisma MCA here, today.

He said that it is the custom of Malaysians to celebrate all festivities of other races, religions and background.

The opportunity for family members to gather to celebrate a festivity must be taken seriously in strengthening unity.

He explained that no other country in the world that could live up to Malaysia’s standard in celebrating diversities and this identity is the strength of the nation.

“What’s important is this year’s Chinese New Year can increase our spirit to work harder in facing upcoming challenges.

“As we celebrate the Fire Roosters year, it is important for us to face any adversities to help develop the nation.

“I hope this year will bring good fortune to Malaysia,” he added.

Liow and his wife, Datin Seri Lee Sun Loo with MCA members and several Cabinet ministers welcomed Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor at the event.

The Fire Roosters are known to be trustworthy, with a strong sense of timekeeping and responsibility at work.
