Former MIC Youth chief Datuk T. Mohan has criticised party president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel who had come out with a blueprint for the Indian community.

Mohan accused Palanivel of drawing up the blueprint in a hurry and did not consult or engage any MIC members.

“Drawing up a blueprint is undeniably a good thing but not in such a manner or just to put up a political stunt,” Mohan said in a press statement today.

He argued that a blueprint needs a lot of research, data and statistics collected from various ministries.

“It is definitely not something that we can just come up with in a matter of days,” he said adding that MIC members were fed up with Palanivel’s empty promises.

Mohan also called Palanivel the weakest MIC leader.

“I strongly urge him to stop his political drama and start concentrating on putting party matters right. I strongly doubt that a man who can’t even manage his party, is actually capable of being the head of the community, let alone coming up with a blueprint,” he said.

He also accused Palanivel of not paying attention to the 11th Malaysian Plan (11MP).

MIC internal crisis began after RoS declared the election for the posts of three vice-presidents and 23 central working committee (CWC) members null and void during the MIC general assembly in November 2013.

In a letter dated Dec 5 2014, RoS ordered MIC to have a fresh election for the posts within 90 days.

However, the High Court had last week, had granted a stay of the RoS’s directive to MIC to hold fresh elections.

The case will be heard on May 27.
