UBON RATCHATHANI (Thailand): Winning the gold medal at the ASEAN University Games (AUG) is not enough for pencak silat athlete Muhammad Haziq Bistaman and he dreams of being in the national silat squad.

However, he said that he still had a long way to go and there were still many things that he needed to improve on in order to qualify himself to wear the country's elite silat uniform.

"Right now the dream of winning a world title is still far away. I will focus more on the next AUG in Indonesia because pencak silat will definitely be contested there.

"I will also represent Terengganu in the Malaysia Games (SUKMA)," he said.

On the third day of pencak silat competition yesterday, Muhammad Haziq contributed the fourth gold for the sport after beating Thai exponent, Sufee Woh 5-0 in the Putra J class.

The third gold medal of the pencak silat camp was won by Putra Syaid Hidayatullah Ramli who beat Kanmueang Puriso of Thailand 5-0 in the Putra H class.
