The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) wants Penang new coach K.Devan to settle his problem with former team Felda United.

FAM Players Status Committee chairman Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan said this was decided at the committee meeting, Thursday.

"They can resolve the problem via mutual termination of contract. I have been told that Felda United is ready to accept it. I hope they can negotiate a win-win solution.

"If the problem cannot be resolved, they can always come back to the committee," he told reporters after the Players Status Committee meeting at Wisma FAM.

Takiyuddin said Felda United is still paying Devan's salary although the club side has appointed Irfan Bakti as the coach for next season.

"Felda United may appoint Irfan because two coaches for one team is not a problem. However, one coach for two teams is disallowed.

"This is why Felda United is ready to terminate Devan's contract by mutual agreement."

Devan will replace former Penang coach Merzagua Abderrazak who does not possess a Class A coaching certificate.
