KASMA Daniel Kasmayuddin has been singled out for special training by Yamaha Japan ahead of the third round of the 2016 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship slated to be held at the Suzuka Circuit from June 3 to 5, 2016.

The 16-year-old Malaysian rider was flown to Suzuka two weeks ago to undergo one-on-one training with renowned Yamaha coaches Shinichi Nakatomi and Nobuyuki Ozaki.

“I appreciated the chance to have extra track time at Suzuka. It is a tough circuit to master and the coaching tips from Nakatomi and Ozaki had definitely improved my feeling on the bike,” said Kasma.

The boost to Kasma’s performance come at a time when the young rider is pressured by the high-octane competition in the Asia Production 250cc class. Kasma finished sixth overall in the Asia Production 250cc class last year, but is only ranked 9th this season after two rounds.

“The competition in the 250cc class is very physical, especially with the rough riding style of the Thai riders. The Japanese riders at least have a few of their compatriots alongside to help in strategy. As the sole Malaysian on the front end of the class, I am grateful to Yamaha Japan for their commitment towards my growth,” said Kasma.
