National paralympian Muhammad Ziyad Zolkefli said that he was satisfied with his performance and the two gold and one silver medals he bagged at the 7th Asean Para Games on Sunday.

"I'm really satisfied with my own performance throughout the games. I have bagged two gold and one silver medals.

"I also managed to break my personal records in three events, namely shot put, javelin and disc throw," the 23-year-old F20 athlete told Bernama.

In the final day of athletic events yesterday Muhammad Ziyad won the gold medal in his favourite shot put event, throwing a distance of 15.69 metres, hence breaking the record of 15.32 metres he made at the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Athletics World Championships in Lyon, France last year.

"I think I have also manage to break both the national and the games records in the three events," he said.

In the javelin event, Muhammad Ziyad also bagged the gold medal after throwing a distance of 48.08 metres, while in the discus event, he had to settle with the bronze medal after throwing a distance of 38.77 metres.

Overall, the national athletic squad had succeeded in achieving its 32-gold target by bagging a total of 36 gold, 25 silver and six bronze medals.

In the final day yesterday, the squad collected eight gold, six silver and two bronze medals.
