National squash queen Datuk Nicol David retained the Hong Kong Open for the 10th time after defeating arch rival Laura Massaro of England in the final today.

It was Nicol's 100th Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour tournament final.

In the final held at the Hong Kong Sports Centre, the 32-year-old Nicol who is the tournament's second seed, beat Massaro in straight sets 15-13, 11-9 and 11-3 in 39 minutes.

"I was just on adrenaline today and gave it everything I had," said an emotional Nicol after the win, as quoted in the squash website, www.squashsite.co.uk.

Nicol had won the Hong Kong Open for a record nine times from 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.

In 2005, she won her first world title at the Women's World Open championship, also held in Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, in the men's category, world number two Mohamed Elshorbagy of Egypt defeated Australia's Cameron Pilley 11-8, 11-6 and 11-8 to lift the title.
