T-Team Premier League import player, Farmula David Aniya died during a friendly match against Kelantan at the Stadium Sultan Muhammad IV in Kota Bharu on Saturday.

The Nigeria-born player collapsed three minutes after the game kicked off and was dispatched to the Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II (HRPZII) by paramedic team for treatment.

T-Team Chief Operating Officer Mohd Syahrizan Mat Zin said his team was appalled about what had transpired considering the 30-year-old player was allowed to play in the Perdana League.

“He never uttered anything about being in pain before this as he had wanted to play in this match. He was a great player and would normally helped give out orders to his teammates, this was also his first season playing with the team,” said Mohd Syahrizan when met by reporters on Saturday.

He added that he had received confirmation about the demise of the defence player at approximately 10.05pm after he was contacted by assistant coach, Azhari Salim who was at the hospital.

“Farmula was suffering from a heart problem, but a post-mortem must be carried out first,” Mohd Syahrizan added.

The friendly match had to be halted 60-minutes after the game kicked off by referee, Ku Alauddin Ku Muhammad.

Kota Bharu Deputy Chief Police, Supt Setapa Yusoff when contacted confirmed the death of the import player.
