As summer sets in, cities around the world reveal their outdoor yoga offerings. Some are free, some are unique, all are directly under the sun.

'New York'

Living proof that green exists in the concrete jungle is questionable when so many yogis flock to Bryant Park for the free outdoor series because colorful mats and the latest sportswear nearly cover the grass.

The trees, however, do not go away during this series that has become an exercise staple for New Yorkers over the course of its 11-year existence.

If green seems scarce, the series is unquestionably proof that free stuff is available in one of the world's most expensive cities, for it doesn't cost a dime.

It's offered by Athleta in conjunction with FlavorPill.

Similar, free classes are offered in Washington Square Park by Sacred Sounds Yoga and in the Meatpacking District in the 14th Street Park by Yogamaya.

To experience green in the Big Apple and the extraordinary height of one of its buildings all while saying "Om," the Brooklyn Grange Rooftop Farm hosts courses Mondays at 6:30pm for $15 per unit.

'Sydney'

Close your eyes, say "Om" and imagine spotting a whale during a sun salutation on the iconic Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia.

It's winter there, but the Yoga By the Sea series runs until October.

Pricing starts at $23 AUS per unit, but those who spot a whale get an extra Om session, absolutely free.

To truly experience the ocean's power, try starting on the beach and finishing on the water.

That's exactly the idea of the series offered by Rancan Sisters Fitness, whose 40-minute Om session on Balmoral Beach is followed by 40 minutes of kayaking.

Even experienced yogis could experience new challenges in search of another way to complete the mind-body experience.

The course is available in pre-paid terms of 8 or 11 weeks, starting at $240 AUS, although an additional joining fee is required for non-members.

'Paris'

The stores may be closed on Sundays in Paris, but yogis are out in full force.

After a successful first year, the summer session returns to Parc de la Villette in the 19th arrondissement, every Sunday from 10:30 to noon.

To experience outdoor yoga in an iconic Parisian landmark, a series is held on the riverbank outside an old train station that has been converted into a restaurant called la Recyclerie.

Loyal to the French way of life, gastronomy is near and tempting when the class is finished.

Classes at la Recyclerie are €10 per unit, post-Om session restaurant indulgences not included.
