Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar explained today the claim by Tunku Mahkota Johor (TMJ) Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim that his movements were allegedly being monitored by the Special Branch unit is just a misunderstanding.

Khalid said he already had an audience with Tunku Ismail this morning to clarify the matter.

"This morning I went to see the TMJ. Actually, it is a misunderstanding. That's all I want to say. I have clarified the issue to him and there is no problem.

"It was a small misunderstanding, that's why Tunku did such a posting (in Facebook). I have been given an audience and corrected the misunderstanding," he said.

He said this to reporters at the RujiRawongse Rugby Championship 2016 at the Police Training Centre (PULAPOL) here.

Yesterday, Tunku Ismail alleged that his phone had been ‘tapped’ and his movements ‘monitored’ by the Special Branch.

He made the statement in an interview regarding the final round of the FA Cup via his official Facebook page, Johor Southern Tigers.
