Treasury secretary-general, Tan Sri Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah today denied allegations by detractors that the declining Ringgit was due to 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

He said that the allegations were based on perceptions fabricated by irresponsible quarters that had affected the decline in the Malaysian currency.

“Those perceptions were merely fabricated by some quarters and they must be rectified. The talk today is aimed to fix the perceptions,” said Mohd Irwan at a Press conference on the 1Malaysia People's Aid Scheme (BR1M) at the Ministry of Finance here today.
