Television personalities Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic may be synonymous with red carpet events, but American actress and comedian Amy Poelher is about to change how it is done.

Going beyond the usual 'Who are you wearing?' question, Poelher started a social media campaign, asking netizens what they would like to ask celebrities at the Primetime Emmy Awards red carpet event which took place on Sunday evening (US time).

According to a blog entry posted on HarpersBazaar.com, the campaign is a collaboration with Amy Poelher’s Smart Girls Organization, Twitter and the Television Academy.

The questions were then asked to celebrities at the Emmys red carpet.

The campaign attracted a variety of questions, and some celebrities took part in asking a question.

Poelher - who was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series at the 2015 Emmy Awards for her role in 'Parks and Recreation' - graced the red carpet and took time to answer a question about a charity she is passionate about.

“Thank you for that interesting question. Thank you for not asking me what I am wearing,” Poelher said in the 26-second video posted on Twitter.

Pop singer Britney Spears even joined in the conversation by asking a question.

Glee star Jane Lynch shared a story on how she started believing in her own talents.

Other stars who took part in the Q&A include Jimmy Fallon, Alan Cumming, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
