Although the action packed scenes in Point Break are worth going goo-gaga over, what the remake is lacking is the entire 90s surfer grunge vibe and its sea-centric spirituality, which I so dearly missed.
And whether one likes it or not, and for whatever reasons it may be, there’s no stopping movie remakes from taking place - especially ones as good and as memorable as 1991’s Point Break.

The Point Break more than two decades ago was a hit because of its advance action scenes and iconic quotes that featured bad vs. good and the bad in goodness (and vice versa).
Former Mrs James Cameron a.k.a Kathryn Bigelow has successfully directed a legend of an action movie by ‘exploiting’ the sensuality of hot and wet hunks in the form of Keanu Reeves and the late Patrick Swayze, parallel with one good story telling.
This time, keeping close to the spirit of the original Point Break, director, Ericson Core has amplified the action scenes by taking the extreme sports, to a whole new and extreme heights.

Getting closer and while keeping up with the ever energetic Bodhi and his comrades, Utah went deep, incognito, exposing himself to all sorts of danger, pushing the boundaries and setting his physical and mental abilities to a much greater heights – more than he could have ever imagined.
Watching Point Break is like watching Fast & Furious 7 except humans are the ones doing all the flying and jumping off cliffs, not cars or machines. This remake is jam-packed with most daring athleticism ever seen on the silver screen.
Performed by world’s best extreme sports athletes, Point Break boasts out-of-this-world stunts like surfing an 8-metre high wave, flying across mountains with just wing suits, sheer-face snow boarding over killer slopes, free rock climbing the Angels falls and not forgetting the high-speed motor cross riding.
