BUKIT GANTANG: Twelve Career and Technical and Vocal Education and Training (TVET) carnivals will be held in stages in Perak from next month to help provide job opportunities for the people of the state.

State Education, Higher Education and Human Resources Committee chairman Ahmad Saidi Mohamad Said said the carnivals were planned with the cooperation of various companies and agencies in trying to reduce the unemployment rate and provide new employment opportunities to those eligible.

"This is part of our efforts to assist job seekers especially graduates as well as those with lower qualifications like the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) besides helping them to upskill.

At today's programme, 2,000 job opportunities were available for people from the Larut Matang and Selama district. It was participated by 16 companies via the PASAK initiative.
