KUALA LUMPUR: All 30 MPs from Barisan Nasional (BN) have been summoned for an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, individually at 10.30am tomorrow (Wednesday).

In a statement, Royal Comptroller of Istana Negara Datuk Seri Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said this was for the Agong to appoint a member of the Dewan Rakyat, who in his opinion has the confidence of the majority, as the Prime Minister.

This is in line with Article 43(2)(a) of the Federal Constitution.

According to Ahmad Fadil, His Majesty urged the public to remain patient and calm until the process of forming a new government and appointing the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia is completed.

The Agong also called on the public to pray that the process runs smoothly for the sake of the country.
