A baby boy aged one year and four months died of shortness of breath at the toilet of a nursery in Saujana Utama, Sungai Buloh near here yesterday.

Sungai Buloh police chief, Supt Junaidi Bujang said in the incident at about 4pm, a manager of the nursery made a police report that a baby under her care was missing from the living room when she wanted to feed the child before finding him in a frail condition in the toilet.

"The baby was rushed to Sungai Buloh Hospital by the nursery's manager before being confirmed dead at the hospital from shortness of breath," he said when contacted by Bernama.

He said following the incident, the nursery manager had been called to give her statement to assist police investigations.

Junaidi said the baby's body had been claimed by his father for burial in Bandar Baru Uda, Johor.

He said the case was classified as sudden death.
