The 67.3 percent broadband penetration throughout the country has enabled the people to enjoy connectivity nationwide said Communications and Multimedia Ministry's secretary-general Datuk Seri Abdul Rahim Mohamad Radzi.

He said the 11.7 percent increase from the 55.6 percent in 2010, has provided better opportunities for the people to increase their income and enjoy the rapid development.

"Communications is an important tool in our daily life and with the introduction of broadband, communications is now at our fingertip and can gain access to all parts of the world," said Abdul Rahim when launching the Visit Museum Telekom 2014 campaign here Thursday.

Also present were the ministry's Deputy secretary-general II Datuk Che Azemi Haron and Telekom Malaysia Group chief executive officer Tan Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa.

The campaign is being organised in conjunction with World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) 2014 which was themed 'Jalur Lebar Untuk Pembangunan Mapan'.

"The campaign will go on from June 2 to 15, from 10am to 10pm," he said.
