Police have ruled out kidnap as the possible motive for the disappearance of six-year-old William Yau Zhen Zhong on January 16.

Federal CID director Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Zinin said no ransom demand has been made since the boy went missing at Putra Heights, Subang Jaya.

“Our officers at the northern and southern borders also have been alerted about William's disappearance,” Bakri said.

“We will also try and trace William through our Nur Alert hotline (15999)."

On Wednesday night, William Yau Zhen Zhong or better known as “Ah Zhong” went missing after leaving his parents’ car which was parked nearby a shop at Jalan Putra Mahkota.

William’s parents only realised he disappeared after returning to their car. They tried searching for him and have also posted information and pictures of him on their Facebook page, hoping to hear from him again.
