Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has advised the public not to panic and give up quickly in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He added that besides putting the trust in front line staff, the community and family leaders should play an important role in advising their family members to practise cleanliness.

“I understand that all of you are a little worried when our economic sectors started to open. Many will leave the house to work.

"They will be everywhere. On the roads, at LRT stations, at petrol stations, on buses, in Grab cars, in restaurants, in supermarkets and elsewhere.

“The COVID-19 virus remains out there and the risk of infection is always present. I'm worried too. Let's not panic and don't give up.

"I believe in the ability of our front-line staff to carry out their work to curb this outbreak," he said in a Special Message in conjunction with Labour Day here today.

Earlier, the Prime Minister had said that almost all sectors of the economy would be allowed to operate from May 4.
