Eight areas in Selangor were hit by flash floods following heavy rain this evening.

According to Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Mohd Sani Harul the areas were Taman Bukit Kemuning, Kampung Kubu Gajah in Sungai Buloh, Jalan Kapar, Kampung Bukit Cherakah, Kampung Chinchang, Jalan Resak Bridge and Jalan Merbau, Kampung Sri Aman Puchong and Kampung Tengah.

"Three families were evacuated to a community hall in Kampung Chinchang, after their houses were inundated by flood water, which had risen to waist level at 5 pm and affected 15 other families," he told Bernama when contacted here.

Five victims from Kampung Kubu Gajah and four from Kampung Bukit Cherakah were also taken to higher ground, he said, adding that the water level at Sungai Damansara and Sungai Rasau had also risen, but no residents from those areas were evacuated so far.
