A girl with an abnormal growth on her jaw was among Year One pupils who started school at SK Kuala Kupang, here, Sunday.

Nur Batrisyia Jasmin Muhammad Danies, 7, who suffered from ‘cystic hygroma’ a growth that often occurs in the head and neck areas, was send to school by her parents Nur Azila Abd Wahab, 42, and Muhammad Danies Jamaludin, 42.

Nur Azila said Nur Batrisyia Jasmin's school uniforms had to be tailored because of her size (small).

"I hope she can adapt to new friends in class and will be comfortable learning in the school," she said.

She added that her daughter would receive treatment for the disorder at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) on Feb 26 with the help of Baling MP Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim, who is also UMNO Welfare Bureau chairman.
