The government has gazetted the implementation of the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) at Pusat Bandar Utara, Kuala Lumpur and surrounding areas of the Kuala Lumpur Wholesale Market.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the action was taken on the advice of the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the implementation would start from April 20 (today), until May 3, 2020.

“This 6th EMCO is implemented to curb the COVID-19 infection. This will allow tracking activities to be carried out during this period.

"All residents are requested to remain calm and fully cooperate with MOH personnel and to obey all directives of the authorities," he told a media conference here today.

For the record, it is the 6th EMCO after Hulu Langat, Simpang Renggam, Menara City One, and the Selangor Mansion and Malayan Mansion buildings, and Jalan Masjid India, Kuala Lumpur.

However, the EMCO in Hulu Langat has ended on April 14.

Ismail Sabri, who is also Defence Minister, said the 6th EMCO would include eight parcels: -

Parcel A: Jalan 6/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara, Kuala Lumpur

Parcel B: Jalan 6/3A dan 9/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara, Kuala Lumpur

Parcel C: Jalan 2/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara, Kuala Lumpur

Parcel D: Jalan 2/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara, Kuala Lumpur

Parcel E1: Taman Sri Murni Fasa 2, Jalan 1/2D, Kuala Lumpur

Parcel E2: Taman Sri Murni Fasa 1, Jalan 1/2D, Kuala Lumpur

Parcel E3: Taman Sri Murni Fasa 3, Jalan 1/2B, Kuala Lumpur

Parcel F: Taman Batu View dan Taman Batu Hampar, Kuala Lumpur

However, Ismail Sabri assured that the usual supply of wet goods from the Kuala Lumpur Wholesale Market, otherwise known as the Selayang Wholesale Market, would not be affected as the market was not closed.

“The wholesale market is not closed. We are just closing the housing area around it, especially involving the many Rohingya people who holds the UNHCR card. The wholesale market is still open as usual,” he added.

He said residents who needed assistance or had any questions could contact the DBKL MCO Operations Room at 03-4026 7222 or Sentul IPD Control Centre at 03-4048 2212.
