i-City, a popular tourist destination in Selangor has unveiled its latest attraction - Space Mission@i-City - that provides education and entertainment to visitors in futuristic space exploration combining intergalactic travel and deep space exploration.

Built on a 30,000 sq ft area, Space Mission aims to reignite the interest in space science and technology in an innovative way by making it an affair for family members regardless of age to immerse in various forms of space travel adventure, said i-City in a statement released here today in conjunction with a
media tour of the latest attraction.

During the tour, media members were given the opportunity to experience intergalactic travel and enjoy sightseeing comets and meteor showers, an encounter with aliens like the one seen in the movie "Alien" and participate in a battle game with the Aliens.

Information Manager of I-Bhd, the developer of i-City, Tang Soke Cheng, said she hoped that Space Mission would be able to reach out to domestic and international tourists and spark their interest to visit i-City.

The increasing number of visitors to i-City would also contribute to the country's tourist count and tourism revenue during Visit Malaysia Year 2014, she said.

Tang said Space Mission would start operations on Thursday and the entrance fee for the Chinese New Year promotion was RM15.

Besides Space Mission, i-City also has other key attractions, including Malaysia's first all-star interactive wax museum, House of Horror, Trick Art Museum, SnoWalk, WaterWorld and City of Digital Lights on a 10-ha site in Section 7 here.
