Johoreans remain faithful to Darul Ta'zim (JDT) despite the football powehouse losing to KL City FC in the final of the prestigious Malaysia Cup tournament on Tuesday (Nov 30), said Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad.

He said it was normal in sports that there will be winners and losers.

"We (Johoreans) are still proud of JDT. They are in a league of their own, whenever JDT play, the whole country will support the opponents.

"So we were not only up against KL City but the rest of Malaysia," he quipped when officiating the Town Garden Launching Ceremony in conjunction with the state-level World Town Planning Day 2021 celebration here today.

KL City ended a 32-year wait to lift the trophy when they defeated the Southern Tigers 2-0 at the Bukit Jalil Stadium, Kuala Lumpur. The victory was all the more sweeter because it was the 100th anniversary of the tournament.
