KUALA LUMPUR: All children's guidance parks (tabika/ kindergarten) and childcare centres (taska) under the Community Development Department (Kemas) will resume operations on March 1, including in Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah and Johor.

The Rural Development Ministry in a statement today said it was following the announcement that all educational institutions under the Education Ministry (MOE) involving Preschool, Year 1 and Year 2 pupils, can start face-to-face operations beginning on that date.

"The opening of kindergartens and childcare centres is in accordance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) that have been agreed upon by the Community Development Department, MOE and the Social Welfare Department.

Kemas hopes that parents will not worry about sending their children because 10,517 Kemas kindergarten teachers and 1,790 Kemas childcare centre educators have been given guidelines related to SOP compliance which have been issued before," according to the statement.
