An operation staff of a company located in Kemaman Bekalan Pengkalan (KSB), died while his friend was badly injured after a trailer crashed into them when they were changing a flat tyre by the roadside.

The Accident occurred at about hour 5.30am at Kilometre 360.5, East Coast Highway 2 (LPT2) near Bukit Besi, Dungun.

Mohd Zalaini Mohd Shafee, 31, who was ran over by the trailer, died on the spot due to severe injuries on the head and body.

During the accident, the victim and his friend Mohamad Abdul Azhim Suhairi, 18, were on their way from Kuala Terengganu to Kemaman.

The victim was said to have stopped his vehicle by the roadside to change the front tyre of the car.

He then contacted his friend, Eden Asmadi, 23 who came bringing some tools with Ahmad Ihsan Asyraf Yusof, 19.

A trailer that came from Kemaman then crashed into the vehicle and the victims.

Eden who was thrown into drain only suffered broken finger while Mohamad Abdul Azhim was unhurt.

The victim's remains was sent to Dungun Hospital for autopsy.

Dungun District Police Chief, Superintendent Ahmad Zailani Yaacub when contacted confirmed to have received the report of the accident.

The case is investigated under Section 41 (1) Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving and causing death.
