A 36-year-old man was found dead after being slashed by a group of men near Sekolah Kebangsaan Sri Petaling, Jalan Utara, early this morning.

In the 4.30am incident, the victim had sustained severe slash wounds on the head and stomach while his friend had sustained light injuries.

Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din said the victim and his friend were returning from an entertainment outlet in Jalan Gasing on a motorcycle when the incident took place.

They were stopped by 12 men who were in four cars before a quarrel broke out, he said.

The victim died at the scene and the body was sent to Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) for post mortem.
