The Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) will host a mass prayer for flight MH370 at Dewan San Choon, Wisma MCA on Sunday at 10am.

The prayer session will be led by Buddhist organisations which among others include the Buddhist Maha Vihara, Buddhist Missionary Society, Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia and Fo Guang Shan Malaysia.

Party members, including top leaders, will be attending the session.

“This event is to let the world especially the families and relatives of the crew and passengers know that we Malaysians do care deeply about them. We are as worried as they are about the condition of the people on board MH370 and we will pray for them faithfully. We hope there is a chance of miracle and we pray for their survival,” MCA Secretary-General Dato’ Seri Ong Ka Chuan said at a press conference on Wednesday.

“We also hope that this event will be able to counter some of the negative news reports as there are still many foreign media which blame Malaysians as neglecting the feelings of the next of kin, but we are just like anyone else in this world. We do care about the incident and we pray that there will be a good ending,” he added.

The two-hour prayer is open to the public and no registration is required.

Even though it will be led by Buddhist organisations, all members of the public regardless of their religions are invited to attend the session to pray for the families of the passengers and crew of the ill-fated flight MH370.

MCA Publicity Bureau will also hold a live streaming of this event via http://www.ustream.tv/channel/mca-tv1.
