Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak Wednesday urged all parties involved in the recent bloodbath in Cairo, Egypt to immediately cease hostilities and work towards a peaceful resolution.

In his latest post through his Twitter and Facebook account, he also called on the authorities to exercise restraint.

"We are disturbed by reports of violence against protesters in Egypt," he said, expressing regret on the civilian casualties.

Bloody clashes erupted Wednesday between supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi and security forces after the forces moved to clear out protest camps at two major squares in Egypt set up by Morsi's loyalists demanding his return to power.
