A special insurance scheme is being reviewed and studied by the Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) for uniformed civil servants carrying out enforcement operations after office hours.

Its president Datuk Omar Osman said the special insurance scheme is being studied, taking into account the risks that the civil servants may face.

"I see that enforcement personnel conducting operations after office hours are exposed to risks such as accidents, so we (Cuepacs) feel it is appropriate for a scheme to be set up for them," he said.

Omar said this to reporters after visiting an integrated Road Transport Department operation at the Sungai Besi toll plaza south-bound on Tuesday night.
