Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has insisted that school bus operators should not ask for payment from parents following the absence of delivery of pupils to schools which are currently closed.

He said there was no reason for bus operators to request for monthly payment.

"If there is no service from the school bus, then they have no reason to ask for payment because the bus is for the service of sending the children to school.

"If there is no service, then there is no reason to ask parents to pay," he told a media conference here on Saturday.

However, he said he will take the matter to the Minister of Transport for further action.

"School buses are under the Ministry of Transport, the license I believe is issued by the Transport Ministry as it is under the authority of the ministry.

"I will bring this matter to the Minister of Transport to issue instructions to bus operators on what they can and cannot do," he added.
