Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said it is not the Barisan Nasional's policy to implement single-stream education system.

Speaking at the MCA's 62nd annual general meeting (AGM) today, Najib stressed that despite calls to introduce single-stream education system, BN has no plans to do so.

"That is why we must go back to the basics of our country. We need to create the trust of all the communities in the country," he said in his speech at the AGM today.

“This is not decided by me. It has been decided by our country’s forefathers,” he added, drawing applause from delegates and audience.

Meanwhile, Najib said MCA is not a silent partner in the BN and refuted claims that the component party does not do anything.

He said MCA always gives its input in various issues but stressed that it is always done in a disciplined and polite manner.
