IPOH: The four children who were abandoned at the guard house of the Perak Tengah (Central) District Administration Complex (MDPT) in Seri Iskandar last week will be taken under temporary orders and placed in an institution of the Social Welfare Department (JKM).

Perak JKM director Nor Tipah Majin said it was a support procedure while JKM traced the parents of the four siblings concerned.

"Police are still trying to trace the parents and family of the children. At the same time, JKM focuses on the protection and care of the children."

JKM will also cooperate with police for the purpose of tracing the family," she told Bernama here today.

According to her, the four siblings were rescued and taken to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here for a health check-up and they are in good condition with no signs of physical injury.

Earlier, media reported that four siblings consisting of two boys aged 11 and 3, a 10-month-old baby boy and a six-year-old girl were found abandoned at the complex.

Perak Tengah district police chief Supt Hafezul Helmi Hamzah reportedly said information on the incident was received through a district Social Welfare officer at 5.39 pm on Nov 23.

According to Hafezul Helmi, based on information, the unfortunate siblings were abandoned at the guard house by a woman who drove away in a car.
