KUALA LUMPUR: Britain's Queen Elizabeth II will be remembered for her extraordinary devotion to duty and her life of service to Britain, the Realms and the Commonwealth, says British High Commissioner to Malaysia Charles Hay.

Hay, in extending his condolences to the British royal family and citizens over the passing of the monarch and profoundly saddened by the death of Her Majesty, said he and his colleagues are already receiving many condolence messages and tributes from their friends in Malaysia.

"We are very grateful to the outpouring of affection and respect for her in Malaysia," he said in a statement made available to Bernama.

Queen Elizabeth II, Britain's longest-serving monarch, has died at the age of 96, the Buckingham Palace said Thursday.

The high commissioner said flags are at half-mast in paying tribute to the queen until the State Funeral which will be in around 10 days' time.

"A digital condolence book is now available on www.royal.uk for people who wish to pay their tribute and respects," he said.

Hay said a physical condolence book will be opened to members of the public in Malaysia from Sept 12-15 at Menara Binjai, 2, Jalan Binjai, Kuala Lumpur, from 8 am till 4.30 pm.
