A riot may happen in Malaysia if ideological opposing groups keep taking shots at one another.

Federal Territories Minister, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said, both parties should be sensible instead of 'hurting' one another.

"This is the problem, when one party does something that hurts the feeling of the other party. There are reactions and counter reactions.

"In the end, it might escalate to a riot. So, they have to be careful," he said.

He added that it is vital that Malaysia's unity in diversity is preserved and not jeopardised by actions carried out by theses groups.

He was responding to a question by the media regarding the Red Shirts' Rally organiser Datuk Jamal Yunos intention to hold counter rallies as a respond towards the rallies organised by Bersih.

Earlier today, at the Bersih 5 convoy flag-off in Lumut, Perak, Red Shirt supporters turned up at the event to intimidate and provoke Bersih activists, the latter claimed.
