The number of people staying at the relief centres in the district of Serian, Sarawak has decreased to 67 comprising 16 families, compared to 80 comprising 19 families, this morning.

Civil Defence Department state public relations officer Siti Huzaimah Ibrahim said 21 flood victims are currently sheltered at Balairaya Slabi, Entungkuh compared to 34 earlier.

She said 36 others are staying at Surau Darul Hadhari, Kampung Rimba Padi.

The 10 people from two families who were evacuated from their homes following a landslide in their area are still staying at Balairaya Koran.

According to her, the prevailing cloudy weather with intermittent rain in most areas in the Kuching and Serian divisions had not helped to alleviate the flood situation.
