ALOR SETAR:Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) pro-tem president, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, has claimed that there are parties who are trying to prevent and thwart the party's registration at this time.

According to him, his party has met all the requirements set by the authorities but Pejuang has not yet been approved by the Registrar of Societies Department (RoS).

Mukhriz asserted that the party’s pro-tem committee has not yet received any official letter from JPPM regarding the matter even though a meeting was held with officials of the department.

Following that, Mukhriz hoped that sincerity can be highlighted by the JPPM apart from "certain parties" who were allegedly involved in preventing the registration of Pejuang so as not to be scared of the party's strength and respect the democratic practices that existed in this country.

"I see there may be (those who obstruct), from my point of view there is.

“If not (some are obstructing), it (the party registration) should have been approved.

“If you follow the KPI (key performance indicators) of the RoS, it has its timeline.

“So, what is the point of having a KPI like that if they do not inform us what else is needed and if nothing (is not complete), why (RoS) did not approve?

"We practice democracy, winning or losing is normal, we leave it to the people.

“So, if it (not approving Pejuang) has been blocked from the onset, how can we revive democracy," Mukhriz said when met by the media after the presentation of the Kedah State Budget 2021 by the Menteri Besar, Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor at Wisma Darul Aman, here on Sunday.
