The remains of the fourth Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tengku Intan Zaharah Almarhum Tengku Seri Setia Raja were laid to rest beside the tomb of her husband, Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah, at the Terengganu Royal Mausoleum at the Abidin Mosque here after the Zohor (midday) prayers Sunday.

The funeral prayers were performed by Terengganu Mufti Dr Zulkilfy Muda while among the VIPs present were members of royal families, Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman, State Assembly Speaker Datuk Zubir Embong, State Secretary Datuk Osman Muda and state executive councillors.

Upon arrival at the Sultan Mahmud Airport at 10.15am on a Royal Malaysian Air Force aircraft from Subang, the remains were taken to Istana Maziah to enable dignitaries and the public to pay their last respects.

Those who turned up to pay their last respect included Tengku Besar Terenganu, Sharifah Nong Asegaff, Tunku Ampuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Aishah Rohani Almarhum Tengku Besar Mahmud, Tengku Sri Temenggung Raja, Tengku Baharuddin Ibni Almarhum Sultan Mahmud and other royalty.

Tengku Intan Zaharah died at the age of 87 at a private medical centre in Kuala Lumpur at 3.26pm yesterday.
