The flood situation in Terengganu is improving which will enable schooling session in 40 of the 63 schools that were closed today to run as usual.

State Education Director Shafruddin Ali Hussin said based on the monitoring carried out this afternoon, he expected only 23 schools would be closed tomorrow.

"The closure of these 23 schools will involve 5,246 students, 623 teachers and 153 support staff," he told Bernama.

Of the total, nine schools that were closed were in the Hulu Terengganu district namely Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Matang, SK Tengkawang, SK Bukit Tadok, SK Kua, SK Tengku Ampuan Intan, SK Nibong, SK Getang including two secondary schools namely SM Imtiaz Kuala Berang and SM Agama Mahmudiah.

In Setiu, seven schools that would be closed tomorrow are SK Merbau Menyusut, SK Sungai Las, SK Kampung Besut, SK Kampung Buluh, SK Langkap and SK Lubuk Teras.

Three other schools in Besut are SK Pusat Jertih, SK Kampung Nangka and SK Alor Lintah while three more schools in Dungun are SK Minda Talong, SK Tepus and SK Delong.

In Kemaman, only one school, SK Pengkalan Rangoon would be closed tomorrow. - BERNAMA
